Pastor Anthony L. Scott was unanimously selected to become the Senior Pastor of the Historic First Baptist Church North Tulsa on December 7, 2008. He was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to Rev. Donald L. and Velma Scott. His early years were spent in St. Louis, Missouri before moving to Oklahoma. On August 28, 1993 Pastor Scott married the former Kelly Robbins. There union has been blessed with two children, Anthony and Jared.
His preaching experience spans 18 years and he has just entered his seventeenth year of pastoral ministry. During this time, he has served as senior pastor to three other churches. Most recently, St. Mark Baptist Church of Muskogee, Ok (10 years), and Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Haskell, Ok (3 years). He was licensed to preach and ordained to the gospel ministry under Dr. Bertrand M. Bailey, Sr. of St. Andrew Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Langston University, a Master of Theology from Andersonville Theological Seminary, and is nearing completion of a Master of Divinity. Pastor Scott’s educational pursuits extend to a number of Ministers Institutes, clinics, and seminars.
He, as well as FBCNT, remains proudly affiliated with the National Baptist Convention, U.S.A. Inc., the Oklahoma Baptist State Convention, and the Creek District Baptist Association.
